More good news for one of our favorite bag designers Anya Hindmarch, who was earlier this week (2nd June 2009) awarded a MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by the Queen at Buckingham Palace, London. The honour was bestowed on Anya in recognition for her eco-friendly contributions to the fashion industry. Anya’s most famous bag by far is the “I’m Not A Plastic Bag” tote which sold out around the world when it was originally launched in 2007.
Aftre recieving the award Anya said “It was such a fantastic honour and a really special experience. It made me feel so proud to be British!”.
The I’m Not a Plastic Bag is to be part of the forthcoming Super Contemporary exhibition at the Design Museum. The exhibition running from 3rd June to 4th October 2009 ‘examines the creative magnetism of London’ and is set to reveal ‘the spirit of London design, past, present and future.’ INAPB will be used as part of an illustration charting London’s defining creative moments.
