The trend of smaller handbags may be a sign of the times. In this rough economy women have been spotted scaling back on their over-sized bags. However, celebrities like Katie Holmes don’t have much to worry about in the unemployment department and yet they have joined in on the downsizing trend.
It may be just part of the fashion cycle, but bags have been becoming less like duffel bags and more like actual purses. This is great news for the postures of women and the men that carry their bags. Carrying a smaller bag encourages you to carry less and only bring along the essentials. As an additional bonus, the smaller the bag, the smaller the hardware and we all know how heavy those lockets and buckles can be. FYI, for those men that feel emasculated carrying a handbag to help your lady out, we think there is nothing sexier. Carry on gents!
